ORGANIZATION SUCCESS The term organizational culture is related to the study and understanding of the dynamics involved at a personal as well as a group level in work settings. The term also deals with the nature of the work as well (Kudisch et al. 1995). There are several factors that come into play when people interact in works. Understanding organizational culture is becoming increasingly important since the work is becoming a global village and people with diverse background and culture have to interact and work effectively in any work. Since a person has to deal with different people in any work, it is imperative that they have a vast knowledge on personality in order to read the behavior of another person. The Large Emphasis Mill Puts On Conformity Is Not A Strong...
The large emphasis Mill puts on Conformity, is not a strong enough argument. It is simply displaying the problem he sees without any clear fixes. By Mill saying that people should be allowed to act on their own based off of the idea that originality is a valuable element of human affairs because it would lead to new practices and set examples of more enlightened conduct is not an argument that is going to persuade someone with different beliefs. Just basing your thinking off this, wonââ¬â¢t change the mind of someone who is content with the way life is already. Mill also moves on to evaluate the argument over what the rightful limits are that should be set to the sovereignty of the individual over himself. The popular idea of social contract, that society was something that people in some way agreed to be a part of, and that defined rights as things people agreed to have protected by society, and duties as things people would agree to take obligation over, Mill did not agree with. Due to his disagreement with this idea, the argument that because people receive certain protection of society, they owed certain conduct in return did not work in favor of his argument. Mill instead uses the argument that in the case that people do not conduct themselves appropriately, as long as they donââ¬â¢t violate anyone elseââ¬â¢s rights, but do in some way ââ¬Å"harmâ⬠another individual, they should only be censured by opinions, not by the law in any way. Efficiency means the processing speed, storing capacity of the system and various other problems that can happen in a computer system. It is also important to check the system as, if it will not work properly then the working capacity of the stores will decrease. For checking the efficiency of the systems a team of specialists will be constructed, high quality business telephones, and modems will also be installed. For better processing, the computer processor will be analysed (Young, 1998). For checking the Internet speed, the internet connection will be used by the specialists for two days. 3rd generation network provider will be used for the better internet processing. The second thing that should be checked is whether the purchased systems are fulfilling the needs and requirements of the organization. It is really important to check if the system purchased will properly fulfil the requirements of the organization, if not, then it is worthless to purchase that system. For checking this, our team of professionals will consist of some technical people who will check whether the system is effectively performing the task which they have to perform in the working period(Pezze, 2007). If it is felt that there is any problem in any part of the system and software processing, then it can be guided properly in understanding the system working. Thus, this is how the above task of checking the system will be performed. If there will be a requirement of new system then that will be ordered from the market and will be evaluated according to the previous step. Effectiveness of staff training and future training plan Training of staff is also important for the new system. For enhancing the effectiveness and the efficiency of the work in the organization, the training of staff is very important. For this, the staff will be introduced with the new systems(Brum, 2010). They will also be trained to handle and work on the system if any changes are performed on the systems in future. The training will also be held for the staff to learn the new changes. Her last words, thoughts, and feelings were left behind in a suicide note, describing why this had to happen. This was a tragic accident that should not have happened, in fact, it should have been prevented. What drove this college student to kill herself? These phrases are repeated over and over again, to prove to the reader that she was never appreciated or complemented for what she had to offer. No one had ever brought it to her attention that she was doing a good job, or that she looked pretty, or that she was smart. It showed that she was smart, she was just shy of a perfect four-point grade average. The note goes on to state an apology to her parents. She felt as if she was disappointing them, by not working hard enough, and also ââ¬Å"not good enough to please her parentsâ⬠(7-9). Everything she had done seemed to be the best she could do, but to her parents, it wasnââ¬â¢t good enough. She begins to fantasize about what it would be like if she were a son, ââ¬Å"shoulders broad as the sunset threading through the pineâ⬠(10-11). Would she have gotten more attention? Would she then be praised for the jobs she has accomplished? Would it be good enough for her parents? Since she was a girl, her parents expected less from her. She tried to stand up and take charge, by doing chores and tasks that a boy would be required to do. Had she been a boy, her life would be a lot easier, and she would have gained more respect from her parents. She admits that ââ¬Å"tasks did not come easy to herâ⬠(24). ââ¬Å"Each failure, a glacierâ⬠(25). The glacier represents a big disappointment to her, as if it makes her feel cold inside, and she regrets that she could have done better. Further into the note, she pictures herself as a sparrow, ââ¬Å"sillied and dizzied by the windâ⬠(38-39). The reason she pictures herself as a sparrow is because a sparrow is a little bird that is not considered to be a really important creature. Compared to a hawk or an eagle, a sparrow is a peasant bird, or an everyday bird. People have noticed sparrows before, but have never pointed them out, like they would if it were a hawk or an eagle. They would praise the hawk or eagle, not a little sparrow. When people see a hawk or an eagle, they stop and say, ââ¬Å"Look! â⬠or ââ¬Å"Wow! â⬠She obviously never got acknowledged for her work. She felt like she wasnââ¬â¢t being appreciated. Near the end, she hopes that they will ââ¬Å"bury her under a sturdy pineâ⬠(59). The pine refers back to the beginning where she pictures herself as a boy. The pine represents what would have happened if she would have turned out to be a boy. It could also mean that in the afterlife, she wants to be as strong as a pine, hoping that she will be brought back as a boy. The suicide was a way for the college student to finally be noticed. It was very unfortunate for a person to take their life just to get attention, and to finally get some appreciation for all the things she had done, which still wouldnââ¬â¢t be good enough for her parents.
